We wanted to post a new blog about Martial Art’s Development newest charity endeavors.

Myself (David) and Glenn have always believed that the gym has a social obligation to help others where they can, whether it is directly to  people or assisting others in their pursuits. We have a great opportunity to help the community and causes that help other people, animals or the environment. The gym is full of like minded individuals who have a great network and huge potential.

One of the many ideas that we have created to raise money, was the M.A.D competition day( A day where students compete against each other in a fun environment all to raise money for a cause). We trialed this last year and raised money which was donated to the Western Sydney Rotaract and then given to Interplast Australia and New Zealand. This time we are working with a great organisation that has great importance to the Wildlife in Asia.

Animals Asia focuses on three major programmes:

End Bear Bile Farming
Animals Asia works to end the barbaric bear bile trade, which sees over 10,000 bears – mainly moon bears but also sun bears and brown bears – kept on bile farms in China, and around 2,400 in Vietnam.

Cat and Dog Welfare
Animals Asia works to end the trade in dogs and cats for food in China, and lobbies to improve the welfare of companion animals and promote humane population management.

Zoos and Safari Parks
Animals Asia campaigns for an end to abusive animal practices in zoos and safari parks in China, and works closely with governing authorities to improve animal management and increase awareness of the welfare needs of captive animals.

Some people have asked us why Animals Asia, why focus and promote the end of bear bile trade in Asia..Well quite simply, we can see the impact that Animals Asia has on innocent animals that are otherwise not protected, these guys are professional, passionate, and it is clear in their resolve and use of funding. Take a look at this video and tell me this is not worthy of any assistance. We all as a collective group can provide to such a great organisation working hard.

Now take a look at one of their recent posts which we will surely make you smile!

So now you know why we choose to raise as much money for a great organisation and cause, we hope you all will be able to come down to our competition day on May 25 in Sydney at Martial Arts Development. Also if you are a business or cannot make our day but feel you or your business could donate through us, please feel free to contact us or click the PayPal donate button below.

Nice read, I just passed this onto a friend who was doing some research on that. And he actually bought me lunch since I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thank you for lunch! “He who walks in another’s tracks leaves no footprints.” by Joan Brannon.
